Dual Media Filters
Advanced filtration using layered media (e.g. anthracite + sand) for efficient turbidity and solids removal.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Overview
Cube Consolidating Dual Media Filters remove suspended solids, turbidity, organic particles, and colour from process liquids using a layered granular media bed. A coarse anthracite layer over finer sand provides effective depth filtration, capturing a wide range of particle sizes for consistent water clarity.
These filters offer dependable pretreatment for downstream systems such as reverse osmosis, activated carbon, and biological treatment, extending equipment life and ensuring stable, high-quality performance across industrial and municipal operations.
Technical Highlights
- Typical media bed depth: 0.6–1.6 m (total) with anthracite on top, sand underneath
- Flow rates: 5–20 m/h (~3–8 gpm/ft²) in gravity filtration; pressurised systems allow higher flux rates.
- Particle removal: achieves turbidity and TSS reduction consistently under 10–20 μm
- Backwash trigger: pressure differential around 10 psi (~0.7 bar) typically initiates cleaning.
Key Features
Raw water flows through layered media that trap particles of varying sizes, with periodic backwashing to maintain filtration efficiency and extend run times.
- Even Flow Distribution
- Layered Particle Capture
- Gravel Underdrain Support
- Periodic Backwash Cleaning
